Isle of Mull Eagle Watch
Thursday.
We returned to the Eagle Watch on a much better day. Yesterday's trip had been called off due to poor visibility near the nest site. The weather was much better with clear skies and no sign of rain.
The first photo shows the fledgling White Tailed Sea Eagle returning to the nest site. The parent is sitting above the nest in the tree on the right.
The second is of a Buzzard perched at the top of a fir tree.
The rest are Buzzards and Golden Eagles in flight.
Overall we caught sight of two White Tailed Eagles, two Golden Eagles and over a dozen sightings of Buzzards. Not bad for two hours viewing.
Technical note:
All the photos have been cropped down to show close-ups of the birds. They were taken on my Canon camera using a 2x extender on a Canon 75-300mm lens. All were taken at the highest zoom, the equivalent of over 600mm. The shots were hand-held and manually focussed.
The subjects were about half a mile away or more in some cases.
Any camera shake is all mine. I hope you enjoy the results.
